Work Review: Intro To Digital

Unfortunatley my photoshop piece would not load up, even after flattening the file it is still too large to upload :(

alphabetised

This idea started around two months ago when I was queing for Leeds Fest tickets with my girlfriend and two friends. Seeing as we were going to be there all night, me and my friend bought a pad of paper and a pen to mess around and doodle on, and this is where i doodled the first sketch of my alphabet (first picture). And then in the last few days I have developed it (second picture) and finally drew it on Illustrator and made a light, regular and bold version (3rd,4th and 5th picture) and I am hoping to make it into a usable fone in the next week or so.

crazy lines

This is an updated and modified version of my "untitled" piece I did last week.

typography tuesday, but on thursday this week :)

This week I've decided to focus it on hand drawn typography, i did some myself not so long ago, and really enjoyed it, it has some good outcomes as well and its always different.
Also check out this designer called Tim Degner, he has some pretty cool hand drawn type:

This one above, is by one of my friends at uni, he's called Liam, this is the link to his blog: www.doinfinedesign.blogspot.com

circle. square. triangle.

Got the idea for this; A) from a song by Test-Icicles, called Circle.Square.Triangle. and; B) from a Playstation Control. Thought I'd hit it up with some vector artwork.

my holga has arrived :)

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for doing no posts the last week, I passed my driving test last week and since then I've been enjoying the luxury and freedom from having PASSED!!!

Back to the point anyway, after waiting for 3 weeks and numerous e-mails back and forth, I have finally received my sexual new Holga 135BC (I read its the easiest ones for beginners to get used to so thought I'd start off simple). Only taken a few shots with it, but hoping to give it some real use over the next month or so.

I also found this really cool site, with lots of little tips for simple customisation of my camera:

typography tuesday

Decided to go for a natural, 'woody' feel for this weeks typography post as I was a bit stuck for ideas on a theme. Enjoy.

axis drawing piece

Was a bit bored the other day and noticed someone had drawn and axis line drawing on the back of my notepad (not entirely sure of the proper name) and it just gave me an idea to reproduce it in Illustrator and have a play about.

holga 135bc

I ordered a Holga 135BC (Black Corners) from eBay around two weeks ago. It said the camera can take upto two weeks to arrive. After recently checking my e-mail at the start of the week, I found out that the seller had ran out and was waiting for more stock. I finally found out today that they are sending one today and it should be here soon. I just wish it would hurry up!!! :(

typography tuesday

The first installment of my weekly post "typography tuesday". I thought I would start off by finding interesting typography on my doorstep, well in my village. Enjoy :)

posca pens & permanent markers

Was at my friends flat last week having a few drinks before a night out and we got a little bored so decided to get his Posca pens out and just started drawing on some random empty bottles he had lying around. We came up with a few designs each and it was a good laugh just drawing for fun :)
Check out my friends, Tom's, designs;
Due to the awesomeness I experienced from the Posca's, I decided to go purchase some of my own "Weapons of Choice!!!"
